IRSA project “The “Multi-Platform Multi-Band Earth Observation Information Processing System” received the second prize of China's 2010 State Scientific and Technological Progress Award at the awarding conference held at the Great Hall of the People on January 14, 2011.
This project contributed to China’s first radar satellite with regard to its project approval and parameter selection. It also developed the technology on radar remote sensing processing and ground-object interaction. Furthermore, it launched China's first digital earth prototype system which marked China’s leading position in the development of global digital earth field.
The awarding conference on State Scientific & Technological Award was sponsored by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the State Council. Hu Jintao, Wen Jiabao, Li Changchun, Xi Jinping, Li Keqiang and other party and state leaders attended the event and conferred awards to the laureates.
A total of 273 laureates received the 2010 State Scientific and Technological Progress Awards, among which 3 won the outstanding awards, 31 the first prizes and 239 the second prizes.
