On October 26, 2010, the guests from the Republic of Seychelles visited IRSA for learning advanced experience in application of remote sensing technology, and were received by Prof. Wang Jinnian, Deputy Director of IRSA. The guests included 19 Seychelles governmental officials from over 10 departments including its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance, and National Broadcasting Company. They went to China as trainees of the Application of Information Technology Training Program for Seychelles, which was hosted by CIFAL Shanghai International Training Center.

Listening to the introduction on IRSA, the trainees had a basic understanding on the development of IRSA, especially on its remote sensing application in natural disasters monitoring, agriculture, image processing, and land use. Impressed with IRSA’s advances in remote sensing, the trainees hoped to deepen relations with IRSA in future and further know the application of ocean remote sensing, which developed rapidly as a new discipline in IRSA, and which attracted their attention as Seychelles was an island country of Africa.
