IRSA is an organism authorized by the Degree Commission of the Council to confer Doctor and Master Degrees in cartography and remote sensing and is also a postdoctoral research center. Since 1978, more than 140 post-graduates have graduated from here, among them, 26 are Doctor Degree obtainers and 22 are post-doctorates. At present, IRSA has increased its annual student enrollment number to 25 MS and 25 Ph.D.students respectively and 8 post-doctorates. The enrollment discipline directions are as follows: micro-wave and infrared RS; GIS; WebGIS; geo-spatial information sciences; optical RS & imaging processing; hyperspectral RS; global change and ecological environment RS etc..
